Farmura have appointed Michael Fance as Area Sales Manager for London and the South East, providing support to turf managers and distributors.
Michael entered the turf management sector on leaving school in 1983 and subsequently spent the next seventeen years employed at a number of golf clubs in Essex. Fourteen of those years were in the position of either Head Greenkeeper or Course Manager.
During his tenure, Michael was fortunate enough to work on a variety of golf courses with a broad spectrum of construction types, management and agronomic practices, and product requirements.
The set-up of these sites also allowed him to gain valuable experience in the maintenance of football pitches, bowls, and other natural turf playing surfaces. He was introduced to Farmura products during this period in his career and used a selection of them during the late eighties and nineties.
The new millennium saw his career take a change of course as he decided to move into the sales side of the industry. Following nearly five years spent working in amenity sales at end-user level in the South-East of England, he accepted the opportunity to join Scotts as an Area Sales Manager in 2004. The following twelve years were spent with the company, which later became known as Everris and then ICL, in a number of key roles.
Michael’s strong knowledge of turf management practices and his experience in a number of key sales positions will serve him well as he joins the Farmura team. Over the next few weeks, Michael will be visiting customers in his area and working closely with distributors to supply turf maintenance solutions from the unique Farmura product portfolio.
